International Safeguarding Children’s Conference in the Caribbean (ISCC) 2019

The 5th International Safeguarding Children Conference (ISCC) 2019, being held during Jamaica’s Child Month of May.

The target group for the conference will include:

  • Local and Government Ministers
  • Social Work Managers/Social Workers/Social Work Students/Foster Carers
  • Police Officers/Legal Representatives/ Probation Officers/Immigration Officers
  • Teachers/Nursery Teachers/Child Guidance Officers
  • Clinicians: General Practitioners, Psychiatrists, and nurses
  • Health Professionals/Mental Health Professionals
  • Sports Coaches/Sports Teachers/Trainers
  • Strategic Services Agency employees/The Defence Forces
  • Parents/Carers/Students

Event Overview

Our forthcoming Conference to be held on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th May 2018This two-day conference will be held at the Jamaica Conference Centre 14-20 Port Royal St, Kingston, Jamaica which has been endorsed by the Jamaica High Commission in the UK, themed ‘Challenging and Measuring The Ability To Serve Our Children’ is for Professionals, Agencies, Organisations and Individuals working with and on behalf of children and families.

We have hosted the International Safeguarding Children’s Conference (ISCC) during 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 with several children’s educational fun and sports days over the last 6 years.

One Step Forward Consultancy (UK) is honoured to again partner with Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA formerly the Child Development Agency and Office of the Children’s Registry), Centre For Investigation Of Sexual Offences & Child Abuse (CISOCA),  Hear the Children’s Cry, The North East Regional Health Authority (NERHA), The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), Access to Information Unit Office of the Prime Minister, The Tameka Hill Foundation, Mr Khori Hyde of Youth Organisation Undertaking National Growth (Y.O.U.N.G) and Professor Henk Parmentier the Vice President for Europe at World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH).  Also, Ms Celeste Hutchinson from the US – Director of Clinical Services in Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol inpatient/outpatient programs at Libertae, Inc. and Marcia ‘G’ Consultancy UK foster carer, consultant, and empowerment trainer.

The conference is one of several activities being hosted by the OSFC during Child Month to raise awareness, engage child protection practitioners and share best practices from the UK, USA and the Caribbean.

In addition, the ‘Every Child Matters in the Caribbean Projects’ in aid of our four sponsor schools of Cockburn Gardens Primary and Junior High School, God’s Garden Kindergarten, Harbour View Primary School, and Exchange All Age Primary School where we aim to improve the lives of pupils and teachers.

We have created a programme where there will be days of fun and valuable exchange of knowledge as well as the opportunity to network with other professionals.
