This organisation focuses primarily on the safeguarding and child protection issues relating to children and families. This involves providing Social Work Assessments, Preparation of Court Reports for Care Proceedings and undertaking complex Child Protection Investigations with Immigration Services to clients both in the UK and the Caribbean.
OSFC has from its onset been involved in the completion of social work training and the initiative of placements in the Caribbean to enable workers meet the required standards, to progress within the field of social care through each level of practice and professional development to international standards.
The International Safeguarding Children Conference will engage attendees and participants
- to gain first-hand knowledge of the safeguarding issues experienced by Jamaican care professionals
- to translate safeguarding theory into practical application
- to volunteer time, advice and knowledge with other care professionals at the conference and workshops
- to develop a greater understanding of the impact and experiences of children and young people being returned to the Caribbean from the UK, USA and Canada
- to gain an insight into the political safeguarding agenda, its successes, long-term strategies and vision
It is the view that OSFC Children and Families should have:-
Opportunities for Life,
Safeguarded as Children,
Families working together
Childhood filled with a positive future.
We plan to host our International Safeguarding Children’s Conference in May 2018 to further raise awareness of the need of safeguarding in the Caribbean.
The Conference is to take place over two days in Kingston, Jamaica, which will be achieved through five topics Safeguarding, Health, Education, Training and Development. In addition, on the 19th May 2018, our Rock for a Cause- Lovers Rock Showcase.
Partnership and/or Sponsorship
OSFC is excited to continue to partner, engage and foster new relationships with individuals, key organizations and educational establishments that seek and desire to empower young people and professionals through cultural exchange, social and economic education by travelling abroad.
Participants will build sustainable life-long relationships, develop a greater understanding of safeguarding issues faced in the Caribbean, as they are empowered to be ‘the person that could change a child’s life’.
I ask that you consider joining us in attendance at this conference and/or as a sponsor of this initiative.
For your organisation, it will be the opportunity to forge links with an organisation that recognises the value of cross-cultural processes and practices within the context of Safeguarding and in the provision of volunteer placements for students and professionals within Jamaica.
The main incentive of our partnering sponsors is direct awareness and exposure to a target group of distinguished clientele. Branding is to include:
- Logos and info on our event fliers and invitations
- Logos and social media links and images on email marketing and various ad campaigns with our media partners.
- Signage within the venue
